Vinyl and Other Plastic Storage Sheds

Resin Storage Sheds For a Hard Wearing Garden Store

Choosing a Resin Outdoor Shed - A Lifetime Shed or Alternative Storage Unit? Resin Storage Sheds

The problem of where to store all your garden tools, equipment and furniture is perennial. Traditionally, wood has been used to build garden sheds, but nowadays metals and plastics have come into their own. Amongst the most popular of these modern intruders are made of resin. Advances in the plastics industry have made resin a good choice for long lasting use outside, either for garden storage or furniture.

Lifetime sheds are specially constructed to last a lifetime, and Lifetime are resin sheds to consider first. They come in many sizes, with a good range of 8 foot sheds such as the 8 x 10, 8 x 7.5, 8 x 12.5, 8 x 5 and even a little 8 x 2.5. Shed extensions are also available for Lifetime storage sheds, at 8 x 2.5 each, but it's best to anticipate and get the right size first time.

Another trend in outdoor storage has been the “mini shed”. Although often called sheds, some of these smaller units can be in the shape of a chest or upright locker. Some can also be dual purpose, such as a chest shaped bench, enabling you to store a few garden tools or something else under the patio bench.

Resin storage sheds are a product of both these trends, combining top quality plastic with modern storage needs. Many of the top manufacturers such as Arrow, Rubbermaid and DuraMax as well as Lifetime make some very hard wearing storage products for the garden, some using polyethylene or resin.

Given the popularity of resin patio furniture, it is not surprising that small storage units made from resin, vinyl or polyethylene have become so popular. Their durability is now well known amongst consumers who search for low maintenance and long lasting products for their garden. These materials are especially popular for horizontal storage sheds and smaller boxes.

Small storage sheds have become a convenience for small yards, or additional storage for those whose sheds have become too small for their clutter. They are also, in their smallest sizes, often used on patios, either as pure storage boxes or doubling as box seats. These can be used for tools or sundries from the patio such as cushions; or anything else small that you need to store in the garden. Keeping them on the patio can be quite a convenience, without spoiling your view or the look of your patio furniture and other décor.

Larger resin storage sheds are also available, of course. As with patio furniture, good quality resin sheds do not come cheap initially. However, if you consider their longevity, most of us would consider them good long term value. Resin in not just used in horizontal sheds, but vertical too.

As always, have a good look around at the garden storage products made from resin, and other plastics. Be prepared to buy dual purpose products, such as storage benches. You may even find it better to buy two benches rather than a larger new shed plus patio seating without storage underneath.
